ANC official stabbed by suspended members

An African National Congress member has been stabbed several times by suspended ANC members in Vryburg, North West, the South African Broadcasting Corporation reported on Tuesday.

The victim was apparently delivering suspension letters when he was attacked.

It is alleged that the victim swore at the suspended members. In retaliation, he got stabbed.

Their suspension follows the disruptions of an ANC provincial conference last month in Sun City.

Police said the victim had been taken to hospital and his condition was not known.

Last month, two members of the African National Congress who allegedly attacked its Western Cape provincial secretary Mcebisi Skwatsha were expelled from the party after a disciplinary hearing.

Skwatsha was stabbed in the neck and back with a knife at a party meeting in Worcester in the Western Cape. – Sapa
