Zille gives in and admits to Botox
Cape Town Mayor Helen Zille has admitted that the secret to her new-found youthful glow is botox, it was reported on Sunday.
Zille (57) admitted this week to resorting to aesthetic medicine to retain her fresh-faced appearance.
“I had botox treatment for the first time in 2005. A friend told me that she had it done, and I was a bit surprised because I thought she was being superficial.
“I thought about it a bit, looked at my own frown lines, and decided to give it a try… the results seemed worth it,” Zille said in an interview with the Sunday Times.
She said that she never used to care about her appearance until she was advised that this was short-sighted.
Zille has not ruled out other cosmetic procedures, but added she would prefer medical technology to save lives and help people in dire need.
